We cannot help but point out, as a sign of our market's progress, that only a short while ago a Mexican company in need of long-term financing was forced to turn to foreign sources, but now, those times are behind us. Today, financing is accessible locally to any company ready to take on the task of improving its corporate governance and operating with the transparency required to raise resources among the broad investing public.
Our own goal as an industry is to take the resources that we have standing ready today thanks to our capacity for distribution, and use them to respond to and serve each project that arises, and not let a single opportunity to by to bring more companies into the public securities markets.
I wish to thank all the members of the securities community, who have supported us with their voluntary assistance in the committees of the AMIB; to our staff; to my colleagues on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee who have shown unflagging support; and very especially, the authorities at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the National Banking and Securities Commission, Banco de Mexico, the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Service Users and the Federal Commission for Regulatory Improvement. With all of these, we are satisfied to have established a level of understanding that allows us to work together in taking the steps necessary to contend with the constant transformations in the industry, and particularly its capacity to generate unprecedented changes that despite our years of accumulated experience, continue to surprise us.
Once again, I am deeply grateful to all the members of this industry, the regulatory authorities and participants in all its branches, who have once again shown us their ability to face challenges and build solutions for a satisfactory growth in financing and investment, to the benefit of millions of people and companies who use our services. Their commitment and vocation have been essential to the achievements reported in this document.
