La Hague Convention Seminar
AMIB and INDEVAL organized an event to distribute information on the La Hague Convention on marketable securities law (briefly, establishing that the law of the place where the securities were originally deposited applies).
The event was held on October 24, with the participation of representatives from the Legal Affairs areas of brokerage firms, mutual funds managers, the ABM and AMAFORE. It was also attended by the authorities (SHCP, the Ministry of Foreign relations, Banco de México and the CNBV), and was sponsored by INDEVAL and AMIB.
Seminar and Workshop for Mutual Funds and Investment in Derivative Financial instruments
On February 21 and March 21, a Seminar and Workshop were held for the mutual funds industry, the purpose of which was:
- To inform participants about the content of the General Provisions for Mutual Funds in the area of derivatives, published on December 4, 2006, in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
- Stress the importance to mutual funds of having a regime of investment in derivatives.
- Discuss the requirements mutual funds must meet to trade derivatives, and make participants aware of the services offered by MexDer and Asigna to Mutual Funds in the area of derivative financial products.
These events were attended by a substantial number of industry participants.

VII Tech Day
From October 25-28, the seventh annual TechDay was held by the Systems Committee, with the participation of nine technology suppliers:

• Microsoft
• Citrix
• Telmex
• Plurione
• KIO Networks
• Progres
The event was attended by representatives of 28 brokerage firms, with a total of 70 attendees: 16 from the Administration Committee, 6 from the Mutual Fund Managers' Committee, 7 from the BMV, 3 from Bursatec and 28 from the Systems Committee.
